IQ Testing

This is a focused tool—not a full evaluation—and it doesn’t define who your child is or all they are capable of. We view every cognitive profile through an affirming, strengths-based lens.

This stand-alone evaluation offers a snapshot of how a person approaches reasoning, problem-solving, and processing information. While it’s commonly used for private or gifted school admissions, some adults also choose IQ testing to better understand their cognitive profile or how they tend to approach thinking tasks.

Age-Appropriate Testing:

  • Age-appropriate cognitive testing using one of the following tools:

    • WPPSI-IV (ages 2.5–5 years, 11 months)

    • WISC-V (ages 6–16 years, 11 months)

    • WAIS-5 (age 17+)

    • RIAS-2 available upon request

What to Know:

Sometimes families simply want a clearer picture of how their child thinks and learns. IQ testing can provide that snapshot—highlighting reasoning, problem-solving, and processing skills—without diving into all areas of development.

This option is a good fit if you’re looking for things like:

  • Information for a private school application or placement

  • A sense of your child’s cognitive style and strengths

  • A brief assessment of intellectual ability, without a full evaluation

It’s important to know that IQ-only testing is not the same as a full diagnostic evaluation. It does not explore questions about ADHD, autism, learning differences, or emotional and behavioral experiences. If your goal is to understand the “why” behind how your child is doing—or to pursue school accommodations or medical clarity—a comprehensive evaluation is the better path.

Think of IQ testing as a snapshot of strengths and thinking style, while a full evaluation is the whole story. Both have value—it just depends on what your family needs right now.

Pricing:

  • WISC-V, WAIS-5, RIAS-2 $850

  • WPPSI-IV $700

Why Families Choose Us

We know that testing can feel intimidating—for kids and parents. That’s why we do things differently.

  • For younger children, we keep it playful and low-pressure. Your child will earn a sticker after each activity and leave with a small prize at the end.

  • We explain everything in a child-friendly way so they know they’re here to learn how their brain works—not to be judged or graded.

  • As a psychologist and a parent of four children myself, I deeply understand both sides of this process. Families often say their child had fun during the session—yes, even during an IQ test!

We create a warm, supportive environment so your child can feel comfortable and confident. That’s what makes all the difference.
