Virtual Therapy Services

Compassionate, collaborative support for kids, teens, and families in California and Illinois

We’re excited to expand our offerings to include virtual, neurodiversity-affirming therapy for children, adolescents, and families. Therapy will be grounded in a collaborative, relational model—not behavior charts or compliance plans—and will be available to clients physically located in California or Illinois.

Therapy services will be offered by experienced professionals aligned with our clinic’s values, but will not be provided by Dr. Jessica Snowden Patel.

What to Expect:

  • A strengths-based, respectful approach that centers connection and co-regulation

  • Virtual sessions designed to support emotional growth, flexibility, and communication

  • A foundation in Collaborative & Proactive Solutions (CPS)—the research supported model developed by Dr. Ross Greene, which helps identify unmet needs behind challenging behavior and works with kids, not on them

We believe kids do well when they can—and therapy should help build the skills and safety to get there.

We also offer telehealth therapy for children and teens, with support for:

  • Autism and PDA (Pathological Demand Avoidance / Persistent Drive for Autonomy)

  • Anxiety and related challenges

  • Social and emotional differences

  • Executive functioning and flexibility skills

  • General Therapeutic Needs

Meet the Therapist

All therapy sessions are conducted directly by Katie  Douglas, a Licensed Clinical Professional Counselor, educator, and neurodiversity-affirming therapist. Katie brings a thoughtful, warm, and deeply respectful approach to supporting children, teens, young adults, and families. Her work is grounded in understanding each person’s nervous system, emotional world, autonomy, strengths, and lived experience.

Katie has specialized training in SPACE, Collaborative and Proactive Solutions (CPS), and PDA-informed support, including Level 3 PDA certification. She is especially thoughtful in supporting anxiety, emotional regulation, family stress, school challenges, demand avoidance, shutdowns, meltdowns, and situations where traditional behavior-based approaches have not felt like the right fit.

What sets this therapy apart?

  • We look beyond behavior to understand what is really going on underneath.

  • We focus on trust, autonomy, collaboration, and emotional safety.

  • Families receive practical support that feels realistic and respectful.

  • Children and teens are understood through a strengths-based, neurodiversity-affirming lens.

  • You don’t need to figure this out alone. Katie will help you find a clearer, more compassionate path forward.
